IRIS Summer Open House

Food, crafts, and community (and more!). Join the Interfaith Refugee & Immigration Service(IRIS) team on June 20th as we celebrate World Refugee Day with a summer open house! Scan the QR code on the Flyer or RSVP here.

Event Activities:

• Build a Refugee Welcome Kit!

  • Learn “recipes” of household items that newly-arrived refugees need as they settle into a home in LA

  • Assemble a kit that will be delivered directly to refugee families and individuals

  • Write/Decorate a greeting card to go in the kits

• Learn about our community involvement!

  • Interact with info stations to hear about our services

  • Meet & greet IRIS staff

  • Hear how our wonderful volunteers support IRIS & clients

• Art with a local professional!

  • Craft a clay creation with guidance from a talented artist

  • View a sample of the painting exhibit “Exodus”

• Help plant an herb garden!

  • Cultivate IRIS’s new “herbs of the world” garden with Seeds of Hope

• Free food from local vendors!

  • Taste spring rolls of Atwater Village’s Viet Noodle Bar
